Vertical IT Solutions Team Member Graduates from Leadership Westshore
Duque King, business development manager, is the latest employee to get involved with the Westshore Alliance
Tampa, Fla. (June 23, 2010) – Vertical IT Solutions (VIT), Central Florida’s leading provider of outsourced information technology, is proud to announce that Duque King, business development manager, graduated today from Leadership Westshore, a program designed to identify and help prepare professionals for significant leadership roles within the community, in business and in the Westshore Alliance.
Since opening its doors in 2002, VIT has been an active member of the Westshore Alliance. Joel Wonicker-Cook, director of sales at VIT, graduated from Leadership Westshore in 2004 and currently serves as vice president of the alumni board.
“Duque joined our team less than a year ago, and we are so happy with the initiative he’s taken to get out in the business community to meet new contacts and spread the VIT word,” said Andrew Cohen, president of VIT. “The Westshore Alliance plays a pivotal role in the community and we’re glad to have another team member involved in such a worthwhile organization.”
Each year, a group of up to 30 top professionals is selected to participate in Leadership Westshore. During the course of the six-month program, participants directly interface with Tampa's top government, civic and corporate decision makers.
The Westshore Alliance is a 501(c)(6) not for profit business based membership organization that is recognized as the voice of Tampa's Westshore district. With more than 400 member businesses and scores of volunteers, the Alliance's mission is to maintain and improve the quality of life for the nearly 100,000 employees who call Westshore their working home. The Alliance has made significant progress in the areas of transportation, beautification, crime prevention, education and marketing of the area.
