2009 Mental Health Care Foundation Annual Report

On November 5, 2009, Chairs Andrew Cohen and Irene Guy welcomed over 200 guests to Mental Health Care Foundation's 5th Annual Children's Crisis Center Breakfast at the Hyatt Regency, downtown.  WFLA-TV News anchorwoman Gayle Sierens graciously served as mistress of ceremonies, speaking about the alarming increase in mental illness affecting the youth of our community.  Since the Crisis Center opened in 1987, over 23,000 children have been served.  The center stands alone in Hillsborough County in providing crisis evaluation and inpatient emergency psychiatric service to children.

Almost $30k in proceeds from this year's event along with past years support have helped to renovate and upgrade the Children's Crisis Center.  As a community, we all must share in the responsibilty we have towards helping our children grow to be healthy, happy adults.  By giving generously, we can guarantee that when a child is in crisis, they can get the treatment they need in a caring, comfortable environment.  If you'd like information on how you can support the Children's Crisis Center, please call the foundation office.
